I was interviewed by the officials of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology and subsequently accepted as a Junior Research Fellow. Currently, I am also an Academic Council Member of Shailabala Women’s Autonomous College, Cuttack, Odisha. The name of my business is derived from my mother’s name, Trupti. We believe she is the star of our house and has taught us many ways to lead a fulfilling life.

TheCconnects: Who has influenced you the most in life and why?

Varsha Biswal: Life itself is a source of influence, but my family, especially my parents, have been the biggest source of influence for me. I am blessed to be born into a family that has always supported women empowerment. I was motivated by the food biotechnology sector to step into the dairy sector and launch my own startup, Truptee Dairy Industry.

TheCconnects: What are the biggest challenges you have faced in your life & how did you overcome them?

Varsha Biswal: As a woman entrepreneur, I have faced immense difficulties, In the male-dominated society where we must be tough, and particular, and accomplish what we want to put on the table. Women are a strong source, and we are fulfilled within ourselves that we don’t need any external support to showcase our worth. Being born into a business family, people often assume that our life is easy, which is actually a myth. We also face different challenges to maintain the legacy of the business while making it successful as our parents and ancestors have maintained it. To prove that we are capable of conducting and managing a company, we need brains, mental strength, and a lot of self-work.

TheCconnects: What lessons you have learned from your professional career?

Varsha Biswal: I have learned to always say less than necessary, be friendly with everyone, and help everyone in their ups and downs, but never be too attached. It’s better to remain silent and observe people rather than being outspoken

TheCconnects: What do you see as the biggest challenge for brands in the digital space?

Varsha Biswal: I believe that the biggest challenge for brands in the digital space is the cost of promotion. The cost of marketing has become very high, making it challenging for small-scale businesses to compete. Instead, it would be better to invest that money in production.

TheCconnects: How your product/solution can help to resolve the pain points of your customers?

Varsha Biswal: Our product is essentially milk and milk byproducts, and we strictly emphasize on quality. As a result, we avoid praising or criticizing other products in the market because we believe that those who buy our products should evaluate us based on our quality. Our firm is the first dairy sector in Odisha to be founded by a biotechnologist and veterinarians. My dad, Dr. Shiba Prasad Biswal, who is a veterinarian by profession, serves as the company’s director. Additionally, we provide free health services to the cows on the farms from whom we collect the milk. This ensures that our customers receive high-quality, healthy products, and it addresses their concerns about the quality and safety of the products they consume.

TheCconnects: What do you do in your free time?

Varsha Biswal: In my free time, I enjoy indulging in my interests and hobbies. I am a person who values culture, spirituality, tradition, and modernization. I am an Odissi dancer and have a distinction in Odissi vocal. I love writing, traveling, painting, and reading spiritual yet productive books.

TheCconnects: Do you have any advice for those who want to be an entrepreneur/chief … officer?

Varsha Biswal: My advice to aspiring entrepreneurs or future CEOs would be to have faith in yourself and your abilities. Life will present challenges at every turn, but you can overcome them with the right mindset. Failure is inevitable, but it’s important to learn from it and become stronger over time. It’s crucial to be able to inspire oneself and maintain a positive attitude. Instead of focusing solely on hard work, aim to enjoy the work you do, which will lead to long-term profitability. So, find what you love and enjoy doing, and success will follow.
