There are several ways that startup companies in the United States can get funding from the government

Small Business Administration (SBA) Loans:  The SBA offers a variety of loan programs for small businesses, including microloans, 7(a) loans, and 504 loans

Grants:  Federal agencies, state governments, and other organizations offer grants for small businesses that are working on specific projects or in certain industries.

Tax credits:  The federal government and some state governments offer tax credits to small businesses that meet certain criteria, such as hiring employees or conducting research and development.

Investment programs:  Some government agencies and programs, such as the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, provide funding to small businesses in exchange for an equity stake in the company.
