Their innovative approach creates living spaces that are not only technologically advanced but also deeply harmonious, fostering well-being and balance. In this exclusive interview with TheCconnects, they share their journey, challenges, and vision for the future of smart, soulful homes.
TheCconnects: Let’s start with your professional journeys. How did you both come to lead Exttreme Corp, and what inspired your partnership?
Revanasiddeshwar Pagadekal: My journey began with a fascination for how spaces influence our lives. I’ve always been drawn to the synergy of technology and human experience, but I also saw the profound impact of Vastu Shastra and astrology on well-being. Early in my career, I worked on automation projects, but I felt something was missing, a deeper connection to the people using those spaces. That’s when I started integrating Vastu principles, aligning layouts and energy flows to create harmony. Joining forces with Umesh was a natural step; his technical expertise in electrical engineering complemented my vision perfectly.
Umesh Katgi: I’ve spent over 27 years as an electrical engineer, working on everything from residential wiring to complex smart infrastructure. My focus was always on precision and safety, but I saw the potential for automation to do more than just streamline systems, it could transform lifestyles. When Revanasiddeshwar approached me with his idea of blending Vastu with smart tech, it was a lightbulb moment. Our partnership formed around a shared goal: to create spaces that are as intuitive as they are intelligent.
TheCconnects: That’s a powerful combination. Who has been the biggest influence in shaping your approach to work and life?
Revanasiddeshwar: For me, it’s my grandfather, a Vastu scholar who taught me that spaces are more than physical, they’re energetic ecosystems. He showed me how ancient principles could guide modern design, emphasizing balance and intention. His teachings inspire me to approach every project with mindfulness, ensuring our solutions resonate on a deeper level.
Umesh: I’d say my mentor in engineering school, Professor Rao, left the deepest mark. He drilled into us the importance of precision but also encouraged us to think beyond the technical, to consider how our work impacts lives. That perspective drives me to design systems that are reliable yet adaptable to human needs.
TheCconnects: Every leader faces challenges. What’s been the biggest hurdle you’ve encountered, and how did you overcome it?
Revanasiddeshwar: One major challenge was convincing clients that Vastu and automation aren’t at odds. Many saw Vastu as traditional and tech as futuristic, but we had to bridge that gap. Early on, a high-profile client doubted whether smart systems could align with Vastu principles. We spent weeks customizing a solution, adjusting device placements, lighting schedules, and airflow to honor Vastu while delivering IoT-driven functionality. The result was a home that felt both cutting-edge and serene. That project became a cornerstone for our reputation.
Umesh: For me, it was scaling our operations while maintaining quality. Around 2018, demand for our services spiked, but we struggled with supply chain delays for smart devices. We overcame it by building stronger relationships with suppliers and investing in our own R&D to create proprietary solutions. It taught us resilience and the value of self-reliance in innovation.
TheCconnects: Speaking of innovation, what are the key lessons you’ve learned in your careers that shape Exttreme Corp’s approach?
Revanasiddeshwar: The biggest lesson is that true innovation respects both progress and tradition. Technology evolves fast, but human needs, for comfort, peace, connection, remain timeless. We’ve learned to listen deeply to clients, understanding their lifestyles and values before proposing solutions. That’s how we create spaces that feel personal and purposeful.
Umesh: I’ve learned that collaboration is everything. No single discipline, engineering, design, or Vastu, can create a holistic solution alone. Our strength lies in blending expertise. Also, staying curious is critical. The IoT and AI landscape changes rapidly, so we’re constantly learning to stay ahead.
TheCconnects: The digital space is evolving fast. What do you see as the biggest challenge for brands in home automation and design today?
Revanasiddeshwar: The challenge is cutting through the noise. With so many smart home products flooding the market, brands struggle to differentiate themselves. Many focus on gimmicks, voice assistants or flashy apps, but neglect the deeper needs of users, like energy efficiency or emotional well-being. At Exttreme Corp, we stand out by offering solutions that integrate seamlessly with clients’ lives, balancing tech with mindfulness.
Umesh: I’d add that interoperability is a hurdle. Many devices don’t communicate well with each other, leading to fragmented systems. Brands need to prioritize open ecosystems and user-centric design. We address this by customizing solutions that work cohesively, whether it’s lighting, security, or climate control.
TheCconnects: How does Exttreme Corp address the specific pain points of your customers?
Revanasiddeshwar: Our clients often feel overwhelmed by the complexity of smart home systems or worry that technology will make their spaces feel cold. We simplify the process by offering end-to-end solutions, consulting, design, installation, and maintenance, tailored to their needs. We also use Vastu to ensure their homes feel balanced and nurturing, addressing emotional and spiritual pain points.
Umesh: On the technical side, clients want reliability and efficiency. Our systems use predictive analytics to optimize energy use, reducing costs and environmental impact. For example, our AI-driven automation adjusts lighting and temperature based on occupancy patterns, saving up to 30% on energy bills. We also prioritize cybersecurity, ensuring smart homes are secure from digital threats.
TheCconnects: Your vision to onboard 50 dealers by year-end is ambitious. What steps are you taking to achieve this?
Revanasiddeshwar: We’re building a robust training program to ensure every dealer understands our philosophy, merging tech with Vastu. We’re also targeting urban markets where demand for smart homes is growing. By creating a network of certified partners, we can scale without compromising quality.
Umesh: We’re leveraging data to identify high-potential regions and streamlining our supply chain to support dealers. Our R&D lab is also developing plug-and-play solutions that make it easier for partners to install our systems, reducing setup time and costs.
TheCconnects: What role does sustainability play in your vision for smart living spaces?
Revanasiddeshwar: Sustainability is at our core. We design systems that minimize energy waste, like adaptive lighting that responds to natural light levels. Vastu also guides us here, its emphasis on airflow and orientation reduces reliance on artificial cooling or heating. Our goal is to create homes that are kind to both people and the planet.
Umesh: We’re exploring solar integration and low-power IoT devices to further reduce environmental impact. Our predictive maintenance systems also extend the lifespan of devices, cutting down on electronic waste. It’s about building longevity into every solution.
TheCconnects: Outside of work, what do you do to recharge or find inspiration?
Revanasiddeshwar: I spend a lot of time studying ancient texts on Vastu and astrology. It’s grounding and sparks new ideas for our projects. I also enjoy meditative walks in nature, they help me connect with the energy of spaces in a different way.
Umesh: I’m a bit of a tinkerer. I love experimenting with new gadgets in my home workshop. It keeps my problem-solving skills sharp. I also coach a local youth robotics team, it’s rewarding to see young minds embrace technology.
TheCconnects: What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs in the home automation or design industry?
