R P Singh – CEO of Seasia Infotech Exclusive Interview

TheCconnects: Can you tell our readers a little about your professional journey & how did you come to your current role/position?

R P Singh: Before I joined Seasia, I was leading the automation department at NABARD. I also served as the Training and Placement Officer with a reputed institute, and that is when I had the chance to interact with Col. Khanna for the first time. Fortunately, we shared the vision of building a sustainable company to help us positively impact the world. We wanted to deliver on expectations and build long-term relationships. It was an easy yes when he offered me the position of COO in his company. After over a decade of consistently working on making Seasia the world’s most dynamic and reputed company, I am proud to have led the company through various phases.

TheCconnects: Who has influenced you the most in life and why?

R P Singh: Several people influenced me at different stages of my life. However, one person continues to influence and inspire me to this day. Our MD, Col. Anil Khanna, is very generous with sharing the life lessons he’s accumulated over the years, given his experience of serving the Indian army for almost three decades, working different jobs in the United States, and developing a proactive mindset over the years. Every conversation with Col. Khanna is rewarding in one way or the other. His enthusiasm is infectious!

TheCconnects: What are the biggest challenges you have faced in your life & how did you overcome them?

R P Singh: I’d like to answer this in the context of my professional journey. I can recollect two occasions that I describe as challenging times. One of these was early on when our resources were dwindling, and our capacity was diminished to just 30%. The other is relatively recent, keeping the business up and running through the pandemic. Both of these instances tested my patience and leadership abilities. Today, I am glad to share that we outlived those storms, and these wins are testimony to the fact that Seasia is a name you can trust. Col. Khanna’s experience, combined with our team’s unprecedented support, played a detrimental role in helping me keep the Seasia ship sail through the tough times.

TheCconnects: What lessons you have learned from your professional career?

R P Singh: One thing that is true for life and business alike is no two days are the same. There have been good and challenging times. Though each phase has been incredibly rewarding, teaching me some very important lessons. Over the years, I learned the importance of adaptability and persistence. Leading a company taught me the importance of proactive decision-making and adapting to changing market trends. I want to remind everyone reading this interview that adaptability and persistence go a long way, especially when running a business in a dynamic industry.

TheCconnects: What do you see as the biggest challenge for brands in the digital space?

R P Singh: The constant advancements are the most rewarding and challenging things about operating in the digital space. The only way to stay relevant in a constantly evolving industry is to keep up with these advancements and incorporate them into your operations appropriately as and when possible. If you don’t adapt, you will likely be left behind. Well, the perils of working in a dynamic industry. On the flip side, you get to be early adopters. It is all about what side of the coin you choose to look at.

TheCconnects: What do you do in your free time?

R P Singh: They say you don’t have to work a day if your work becomes your play. That stands true for me. I thoroughly enjoy every bit of leading Seasia. I am constantly thinking of ways to make Seasia better by the day, and trust me, that happens rather effortlessly. On the rare occasion when I am not thinking about my company, you may find me spending time with my family or indulging in photography.

TheCconnects: Do you have any advice for those who want to be an entrepreneur/chief … officer?

R P Singh: I am often asked this question, and I always say that If I had to give only one piece of advice to my younger self, I’d ask him to stay authentic and persistent. Starting and running a business can be challenging; you must stay focused and persistent to achieve your goals. These little things certainly pave the way to success. And authenticity is what sets you apart from the competition.
If you can be flexible in your mode of operation and adaptable to the constantly evolving technologies, that’d be the icing on the cake.
