Aditi Tathagat Gosalia: Senior Employability Skills Coach at Eduvacancy Exclusive Interview

TheCconnects: Aditi, it’s a pleasure to sit down with you today. Your journey in education and employability is nothing short of inspiring. Could you walk us through how you carved this unique path and landed in your current role at Kohinoor Management School?

Aditi Tathagat Gosalia: Thank you for having me! My journey has been a bit like a mosaic, each piece, from my early days to now, has come together to form something meaningful. I started in education management over a decade ago, working with institutions like CMS, NIIT, MET, and Podar. Each role taught me something new about the gap between academic learning and the real-world skills employers seek. I saw students brimming with potential but often unsure how to translate it into careers. That’s where my passion for employability training took root.

At Kohinoor Management School, as Senior Manager for Training, Corporate Connect, and Social Media, a journey just started, I am working on social media writing projects and program launches to start with along side team training initiatives. The role at Kohinoor is vast and needs me to dive in to multiple functions in the education space.

TheCconnects: That’s interesting and challenging ! You’ve worked with thousands of learners and built an impressive network of over 200 corporate partners. Who has been the biggest influence in shaping your approach to mentorship and leadership?

Aditi: That’s a tough one because so many people have left their mark on me. But first I’d say life. It was and is the best teacher though not in the formal sense, but in how it flows with fluidity.

My parents had their quiet way of encouraging me to ask questions, to listen deeply, and to never shy away from hard work.

There was this one author whose books I had been reading since 2002, Dr. Swati Lodha. One of her #Bestsellers  Come On ! GET SET GO was a game-changer for me till I met her in mid 2021.  Her belief in the power of small, consistent efforts shaped how I approached writing & re-approached another way of looking at a multi dimensional living. She unfolded me to a part of  Aditi  I never knew of.

TheCconnects: Your work clearly reflects that philosophy. Let’s talk about challenges. What’s been one of the toughest hurdles you’ve faced in your career, and how did you navigate it?

Aditi: The biggest challenge back then when I started , and  it hasnt changed much even now expect the multiple souces avaliable for an individual to self develop. Back then – mumma says, “my son best”, 18 years later boss say’s, “your best from the last”  This kind of silient  identity crisis situation still previals in many of gen z even now which doesnt leave a desired impact on their minds and often is like ,”I dont know that I dont know”.

I tackled it by starting small. through one on ones , for many years before  I piloted a workshop series, using the  reals to show how these skills led to better placement outcomes. I also brought in corporate partners to share their hiring  and also extend need based corporate mentorships. This helped big time !

It taught me that change doesn’t always need a revolution, it needs persistence, evidence, and collaboration.

TheCconnects: That’s a testament to your ability to drive systemic change. Speaking of systems, you’ve designed some innovative frameworks, like year-long employability calendars. What’s a key lesson you’ve learned from building these systems?

Aditi: One big lesson is that systems work best when they’re human-centered.

You can have the most detailed plan or the fanciest tools, but if you don’t understand the people you’re serving,  their fears, their motivations, their realities, it’s just noise.

For example, when I design employability programs, I start by listening to learners.

What keeps them up at night? What do they wish they knew? Then I tailor the system to address those needs, whether it’s through mock interviews, LinkedIn optimization workshops, or time management sessions. It’s about impact, not just output.

TheCconnects: That human-centered approach really shines through in your work. Let’s pivot to the broader landscape. In today’s digital age, what do you see as the biggest challenge for educational institutions trying to prepare students for the workforce?

Aditi: The digital space is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it offers incredible tools, platforms like LinkedIn, virtual learning environments, AI-driven career tools. On the other, it’s created a skills gap that’s wider than ever.

Employers now expect digital fluency, adaptability, and soft skills like critical thinking, but some institutions are not yet right there.

The challenge to some extent is yet alignment for both institutions and learners.

For example, I have seen students who want to get to a particular functions but neither know and neither have the needed skillsets , hence crash at both interview levels and internship phases.

Many TPO’s lack understanding of  how organizations use ATS for recruitments. The result – so many learners have resumes that dont map up. And you won’t believe- the start point is still about knowing the difference between a bio data, cv and a resume and how to decide your need.

TheCconnects: That’s such a critical point. How does Eduvacancy and Kohinoor address these pain points

Aditi: At Eduvacancy, applicant’s are educated on these profile requirements and moulded accordingly.

At Kohinoor the grooming programs are part of their education with practical, tailored solutions. Our programs go beyond traditional career services. We help learners build confidence and clarity so they can articulate their unique value.

TheCconnects: That’s inspiring. Let’s shift gears a bit. You’re also a certified life coach and author of Let’s Walk Through. How do you balance your professional commitments with your creative and personal pursuits?

Aditi: I believe that in today’s day and age, balance somehow does not exist.  It’s  about integrating the various pods of one’s life – person, profession, partner parent and later perennial. Writing, Let’s Walk Through was a labor of love, instilled in me by Dr. Swati Lodha. It’s a non- fiction book about the human side of life and career journeys through personal stories and work reflections.

As a life coach, I carve out time for one-on-one sessions because they ground me. Helping someone navigate a crossroadnor rediscover their purpose is incredibly fulfilling.

In my free time, I love reading, non fiction and poetry. Also  there’s something about being in nature that resets my perspective. And honestly, sometimes I just binge-watch a good series to unwind!

It’s about finding small moments to recharge so I can show up fully for my students and clients.

TheCconnects: It sounds like you bring the same intentionality to your personal life as you do to your work. For aspiring educators or entrepreneurs in the employability space, what advice would you share?

Aditi: First, stay curious. The education and employability landscape is always evolving, so you need to keep learning, whether it’s new tools, industry trends, or human behavior.

Second, build authentic relationships. My network of 200+ corporate partners didn’t happen overnight; it came from genuine conversations and mutual trust. Finally, don’t underestimate the power of small wins.

Every learner you empower, every system you improve, it adds up to big impact.

Finally,  make informed choices and mould your learners for the same

TheCconnects: One last question: What’s next for you? Any exciting projects or goals on the horizon?

Aditi: I’m excited about a few things – my second book which is in process,  a monthly news letter which i just started –  the june edition talks about the  various lessons our emotions teach us.  And I’m exploring new ways to leverage life skills and how it can increase impact through technology.  The goal is to keep pushing the needle on how we prepare people for not just jobs, but meaningful lives.

TheCconnects: Aditi, your passion for empowering others is truly transformative. Thank you for sharing your insights and stories with us today.

Aditi: Thank you for this platform and for celebrating growth stories. It’s been a joy to reflect on this journey and share it with your readers.
