TheCconnects: Dr. Sinchan Das, thank you for joining us. To start, can you tell our readers a little about your professional journey and how you came to your current role?
Dr. Sinchan Das: Thank you for having me. My journey has been a unique blend of science and art. I pursued my Bachelor’s degree in Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery (B.H.M.S.) at Pratap Chandra Memorial Homoeopathic Hospital & College. Later, I specialized further with a masters on Homoeopathic Psychiatry & also different areas of mental health, Bach Flower Medicine, Music therapy, Hypnotherapy & Psychoanalysis. My keen interest on nanophysics, astrophysics, genome sequencing, philosophy, parapsychology, graphology & mythology shaped my understanding & pattern of thinking. Over the years, my passion for both healthcare and music has allowed me to explore their intersection, leading me to become the Director at Benevolentia Foundation and an Assistant Professor at Brainware University, Kolkata. My research focuses on the therapeutic impact of music on psychological disorders, alongside my work in homoeopathy. I am also engaged in gender movement, to break the taboo regarding the sex & gender.
TheCconnects: Who has influenced you the most in life and why?
Dr. Sinchan Das: My parents have been my biggest inspiration. My father, Mr. Harendra Nath Das, a statistician, instilled in me the value of logical reasoning and analytical thinking. My mother, Dr. Susmita Das, a plant pathologist, nurtured my scientific curiosity. Apart from them, my mentors in music and medicine have shaped my perspective on integrating multiple disciplines for holistic healing.
TheCconnects: What are the biggest challenges you have faced, and how did you overcome them?
Dr. Sinchan Das: One of the significant challenges I faced was societal skepticism regarding the integration of music therapy with homoeopathy. Many viewed them as separate fields with no scientific correlation. However, through rigorous research and clinical practice, I have demonstrated that music therapy can have profound effects on mental health disorders like PTSD, insomnia, and depression. Overcoming these challenges required perseverance, academic rigor, and practical case studies.
TheCconnects: What key lessons have you learned from your professional career?
Dr. Sinchan Das: One key lesson is that interdisciplinary approaches can lead to groundbreaking innovations. Another lesson is that consistency and self-discipline are essential to achieving excellence. Whether in medicine or music, continuous learning is the foundation of success. Lastly, compassion is the most critical quality in healthcare—it goes beyond prescriptions and therapies.

TheCconnects: What do you see as the biggest challenge for brands in the digital space?
Dr. Sinchan Das: The biggest challenge is authenticity. With the influx of digital marketing strategies, many brands struggle to establish genuine connections with their audience. In the healthcare sector, misinformation is rampant. Brands need to focus on transparency, credibility, and providing value-driven content to build trust.
TheCconnects: How does your work address pain points in healthcare?
Dr. Sinchan Das: My research primarily focuses on holistic healing. Many individuals suffer from stress-related disorders but hesitate to seek conventional treatments due to stigma or side effects. By integrating homoeopathy with music therapy, I offer non-invasive and natural solutions that address both physiological and psychological aspects of health. Our research at the Benevolentia Foundation aims to validate these approaches through scientific methodologies.
TheCconnects: Beyond your professional work, what do you do in your free time?
Dr. Sinchan Das: Music is both my passion and my profession. I spend a lot of time composing, practicing, and performing Indian classical music. Additionally, I enjoy reading research papers on neuroscience and psychology. I also engage in philanthropy, working with underprivileged communities to provide free medical consultations.
TheCconnects: Do you have any advice for aspiring entrepreneurs or healthcare leaders?
Dr. Sinchan Das: Absolutely. My advice is to embrace innovation but stay rooted in authenticity. In healthcare, the focus should always be on patient well-being rather than commercial gains. For entrepreneurs, interdisciplinary knowledge can open new doors—don’t be afraid to explore unconventional solutions. Lastly, persistence and continuous learning are non-negotiable for success.
TheCconnects: Given your diverse expertise, what future projects are you working on?
Dr. Sinchan Das: Currently, my research is focused on the genetic correlation of addiction and neurological disorders. I am also working on a project exploring how specific ragas influence brain waves and emotional states. Additionally, we are developing a digital platform to provide accessible music therapy sessions for patients dealing with chronic stress and mental health conditions.
TheCconnects: That sounds fascinating! Lastly, where do you see yourself in the next five to ten years?
Dr. Sinchan Das: I envision expanding my work on a global scale, bridging the gap between traditional and modern medicine. I aim to establish an advanced research institute dedicated to integrating music therapy with medical sciences. Additionally, I hope to continue my musical journey, spreading awareness about the therapeutic power of Indian classical music.
TheCconnects: Thank you, Dr. Sinchan Das, for this insightful conversation. Your journey is truly inspiring!
Dr. Sinchan Das: Thank you! It was a pleasure sharing my thoughts. I hope to continue making a difference in healthcare and the arts.
