TheCconnects: Can you tell our readers a little about your professional journey & how did you come to your current role/position?
Polina Koroleva Agrawal: I’ve always wanted to make this world a better place. So my focus was always on building my own company and working with people who were excited by this dream.
I graduated from Tsinghua University in China and then I was working for TikTok’s mother company ByteDance. The environment there was so entrepreneurial, it motivated me more towards establishing my own company.
TheCconnects: Who has influenced you the most in life and why?
Polina Koroleva Agrawal: It is not who, but what.
I think my university influenced me the most. It cultivated the mindset of constant learning and changing the world for the better. It was really dedicated to personal development for the good of society.
Moreover, I had very smart classmates, so it brought about a lot of peer pressure, which made me study harder and achieve my dreams faster.
TheCconnects: What are the biggest challenges you have faced in your life & how did you overcome them?
Polina Koroleva Agrawal: The biggest challenge was moving to different countries. I was born in Russia, then I lived in 3 different cities there, then I moved to Malta to study English, after that, I moved to China, where I lived for 8 years and then 3 years ago I moved again to India.
The first year after moving is the hardest, because you don’t know anything. You have to build everything from the ground up. It’s a bit like trying to solve a puzzle with no reference image.
I learned to view these moments of uncertainty as opportunity to use my global perspective to find solutions for local challenges.
I have worked with people from so many backgrounds and working styles thanks to my journey. Intially it is a challenge to understand them and help them in an empowering manner. But, thanks to my experiences, I have been able to quickly identify and collaborate with very talented people for my company.
My experience in learning new languages, adapting to completely different cultures and lifestyles also helped me in building our company, because I was not afraid of challenges. What is more challenging than moving to such different places so often, right?
TheCconnects: What lessons you have learned from your professional career?
Polina Koroleva Agrawal: The most important lesson that I have learnt is that to have a good productive impactful company, you need to make your team members happy first. Without their well-being, nothing can move, and nothing can be done.
When the people on your team feel happy and enjoy their work, it will ultimately reflect in the quality of the product.
To get truly loyal and hardworking people, you have to offer them something more than just a salary, an office and a bunch of tasks to do. As a leader, you have to offer your soul and your strength and lead the way by example.
TheCconnects: What do you see as the biggest challenge for brands in the digital space?
Polina Koroleva Agrawal: I think the biggest challenge is the tech talent. It is hard to find good tech people. These days it is hard to find people who are willing to go through the grind and enjoy a challenging workspace.
For the rest of things, there is a lot of support from universities, incubators, angels and other people.
TheCconnects: How your product/solution can help to resolve the pain points of your customers?
Polina Koroleva Agrawal: LearnMigo is a personalised AI tutor that provides an interactive and engaging learning environment.
The students cannot always talk to their teachers or get help from tutors when they are studying on their own. So, they have to rely on friends who also don’t know the answer or can’t teach it well. LearnMigo resolves this by designing Al tutors who are just a click away, any time of the day.
I also think every student has unique learning style and challenges. Al can adapt its teaching to match that and make learning fun for the students.
TheCconnects: What do you do in your free time?
Polina Koroleva Agrawal: I like going for a walk or a swim. I believe a healthy body can bring a healthy mind, so I try to stay active.
Sometimes I also do Instagram. I am a small influencer making videos about food and my life in general. It is a lot of fun and I really enjoy exploring places and then posting videos about it.
TheCconnects: Do you have any advice for those who want to be an entrepreneur/C-Suite executive?
Polina Koroleva Agrawal: Get a co-founder who is different from you, yet understands you and has the same values as you. Having someone who complements your skillset will help you to be more efficient with your time and create a stress-free workplace.
I think two heads are always better than one when running a company.
