Sidharth Dugar – CEO at Commvance Bizserv Private Limited (CBPL) Professional Interview

TheCconnects: Can you tell our readers a little about your professional journey & how did you come to your current role/position?

Sidharth Dugar: I began my journey as a General Insurance agent with Tata-AIG at the age of 18, post which I have worked with multiple companies as a content writer, customer support agent, team leader, trainer, and HR. In between these jobs with companies like Amazon, Google, Synchrony Financial, and Randstad, I also had a corporate gifting company that I had to shut down due to the pandemic. After a long journey of a little over 8 years, I began the journey as a CEO with Commvance Bizserv. I manage day-to-day business operations, client communication, and business development and oversee HR operations.

I landed this role due to my experience, multitasking nature, zeal to ensure things are well managed, and client communication. Also, my expertise in multiple fields was a big draw for the company.

TheCconnects: Who has influenced you the most in life and why?

Sidharth Dugar: While Richard Branson and Ratan Tata have been great inspirations, I believe my father had a big influence on me. I have always had a free hand towards thinking and executing things. His simple approach for me has always been – “Go ahead, do good, honest things and take care”. That confidence and trust have been important to me and were a great influence on the way I have always worked.

TheCconnects: What are the biggest challenges you have faced in your life & how did you overcome them?

Sidharth Dugar: Finance and initial challenges of finding the right team for ideas churned in my head was a huge challenge each time an idea showed up. I could never find the required talent who I could fully trust and would work honestly on an idea. Patience and relentlessness helped me a lot with this. I read a lot of books, and articles, and spoke to random people & known ones alike, and that finally helped me to get to where I am today.

Quick advice: even if you may not want to share your ideas, you could subtly discuss them with people about it. You will notice how much you can learn from them – everyone’s input, little or big, is helpful.

TheCconnects: What lessons have you learned from your professional career?

Sidharth Dugar: My biggest lessons learned have been patience, humility, perseverance, and constant learning.

TheCconnects: What do you see as the biggest challenge for brands in the digital space?

Sidharth Dugar: Digital Space is like the Milky Way Galaxy in a sense. The more we think about its limitations, the bigger it proves itself. While this ensures reach across the world, it also shows the challenges for brands worldwide. I believe the biggest challenge is the endless regulations in place that pull the plug on creativity. Due to these regulations, many brands end up copying each other. I believe there should be regulations, but in an eased manner.

TheCconnects: How can your product/solution help to resolve the pain points of your customers?

Sidharth Dugar: The first and most important point to know about my current company and upcoming projects I am working on is Customer in Focus. While many companies talk about keeping ‘customer first’, we truly follow it. For every client, we work with, whether sales or support, we ensure their customers are well taken care of. We indirectly consider them our customers.

This focus on customers is truly important because not many brands/companies actually understand customer satisfaction.

Apart from this, the forthcoming projects I am working on are all about easing inconveniences faced by customers on a day-to-day basis. I won’t be able to discuss them immediately, but they are a blend of on-the-go lifestyle and storage solutions.

TheCconnects: Do you have any advice for those who want to become a chief executive officer?

Sidharth Dugar: Be prepared for a lot of hustle in any top management role you take up. Understand the nerve of your end customer and employees, keep an open mind and think out of the box too. Don’t just follow the usual, risk-taking and creating paths are very important. Ensure, you put your heart & soul into what you are doing and do it with a witty, honest mind.

Also, knowing how to multitask is an extremely valuable add-on.

Listen on the go!
